Effect of vitamin E supplemented fish feed on growth performance of brood gangetic Mystus (Mystus cavasius)

Nutrition is the major crucial factor determining potential of cultured fish to exhibit its genetic capability for growth. In this study, impact dietary vitamin E supplementation feed on growth performance, conversion ratio and protein efficiency Gangetic Mystus (Mystus cavasius, Hamilton, 1822) were investigate. Total 150 number young M. cavasius (weight 33.0±10.0 g) used CRD (completely randomized design) method with five treatments three replications fed one diets 45 days. Five different (T0, T1, T2, T3 T4) replication having level such as 0 mg E/kg (Control-T0), 50 (T1), 100 (T2), (T3) 200 (T4). Feeds supplied at rate 5% first two weeks, 4% following weeks 3% body weight rest experimental period twice daily throughout study period. At end (15+30) days period, highest mean final gain 15.65±0.10 in whereas, minimum was 7.725±0.49 T4. The length not increased significantly (p˃0.05) doses supplementation. food treatment 0, 1, 2, 3 4 2.72±0.12, 2.41±0.14, 1.53±0.12, 2.68±0.09, 3.11±0.10, respectively. Protein (PER) found (1.96±0.08) T2 compared T1 (1.25±0.09), (1.12±0.11) T0 (1.11±0.10), T4 (0.96±0.10), specific (SGR%/day) 0.79±0.05, 0.91±0.07, 1.37±0.10, 0.87±0.08 0.79±0.06, best performance containing could be cavasius).
